  • Black and white photo of five women in uniforms on a stage or platform, with some waving and others clapping. Behind them are large posters listing services and activities, related to the United Service Organization (USO), including rooms, cafeteria, reading/writing rooms, check room, laundry, tailor, tours, gym, swimming, TV/radio tickets, show and athletic events, tickets, armed forces, theatre ticket project. The scene appears to be a patriotic or community event supporting servicemen and women.

    Our History

When George Williams founded the first YMCA in Industrial Revolution-era London, he sought to create a supportive community to help young men like himself address pressing social challenges. The idea found a home in the U.S. seven years later. The last 170+ years have seen the Y's mission grow exponentially, and today the Y engages more than 10,000 communities across the U.S.

Our purpose defines us.

Working locally, we focus on empowering young people, improving health and well-being and inspiring action in and across our community.

Our mission driven commitment to serve all is demonstrated through our Open Door financial assistance program. We offer thousands in free or reduced memberships and programs to children and families and serve our Y community through dynamic initiatives and programs like Healthy Kids Day, Youth and Family Memberships and more.
