Moving for Better Balance Program

Move with Confidence: Join Our Moving for Better Balance Program at the Fulton County YMCA

Staying active and confident in your movement is an important part of healthy, independent living. This spring, the Fulton County YMCA is excited to offer Moving for Better Balance, a proven program designed to help you feel stronger, steadier, and safer in your everyday life.

Moving for Better Balance is a 12-week, evidence-based group exercise program developed by researchers at the Oregon Research Institute. The program is based on the principles of Tai Chi and is led by a qualified instructor who teaches eight carefully designed movements that have been modified specifically for fall prevention.

This supportive and welcoming program focuses on improving:

  • Balance and stability

  • Muscle strength

  • Flexibility and mobility

  • Confidence with everyday movement

By strengthening these key areas, participants are better able to move safely and comfortably through daily activities such as walking, standing, and changing positions.
