Moving For Better Balance Program

Moving for Better Balance: Feel Strong, Steady, and Safe

The Fulton County YMCA is excited to offer Moving for Better Balance, a 12-week evidence-based group exercise program designed to help you feel more confident on your feet.

The program begins October 27, 2026, with two classes each weekTuesdays and Thursdays at 8:00 AM.

Moving for Better Balance was developed by researchers at the Oregon Research Institute and is based on the principles of Tai Chi. Led by a qualified instructor, the class teaches eight movements modified especially for falls prevention. These gentle, focused exercises work to improve:

  • Balance

  • Muscle strength

  • Flexibility

  • Mobility

The goal is simple and practical: better physical health so everyday activities feel easier and safer.

Classes take place in a safe, supportive group setting. Whether you want to move with more stability, stay independent, or reduce your risk of falling, this program is a strong next step.
