Pop Up Art Classes

Pop In to Our Pop-Up Classes – New Arts & Humanities Programs This February

The Fulton County YMCA is excited to introduce a new lineup of Arts & Humanities Pop-Up Classes this February—designed to bring creativity, connection, and hands-on learning to our community in a fun, welcoming format.

These short, instructor-led workshops are perfect for adults who want to try something new, build a creative skill, and enjoy a relaxed, social experience at the Y.

Flower Frog Pop-Up

Date: February 12, 2026

Time: 5:30–6:30 PM

Ages: Adults 18+

Instructor: Jean Putnam

Cost: $20 Members / $40 Non-Members

Step back into the kind of simple creativity our grandmothers knew best. In this pop-up workshop, participants will make their own flower frog—the classic floral arranging tool used long before floral foam and modern tape. This sturdy, charming piece is perfect for centerpieces, mason jars, and hand-picked backyard bouquets.

Come craft, chat, laugh a little, and leave with a timeless piece you created yourself.

Sourdough Starter Pop-Up

Date: February 25, 2026

Time: 5:30–6:30 PM

Ages: Adults 18+

Instructor: Jean Putnam

Cost: $25 Members / $50 Non-Members

Ready to bake like the old days? In this hands-on class, participants will learn how to make their very own sourdough starter using simple ingredients—flour, water, and patience.

You’ll learn what’s happening inside the jar, how to care for your starter, and how to know when it’s ready to bake. Each participant will leave with a jar of starter, printed instructions, and the confidence to begin their sourdough journey at home.

Upcycled Earrings Holder Pop-Up

Date: February 24, 2026

Time: 4:00–5:00 PM

Ages: Adults 18+

Instructor: Toni Fierro

Cost: $20 Members / $40 Non-Members

Join us for a relaxing and creative evening of crafting and community. In this beginner-friendly workshop, participants will design and create a hanging earring holder using upcycled picture frames, mesh screen, and decorative ribbon.

This project is both practical and stylish—perfect for organizing earrings while adding a handmade touch to your home. All materials and instruction are provided, and no prior crafting experience is necessary. You’ll leave with a finished piece you’ll love to use.
